GET YOUR HALLOWEEN ON!
It’s our round-up of Halloween-related events in Bar Harbor.
COME TO OUR HOUSE ON LEDGELAWN!
Yep, that’s right. We (Carrie and Shaun) will be at 98 Ledgelawn slinging out treats on Halloween night. Come hang out if you feel like it. You can stay, help us disperse candy, have some snacks, or just stop by for a quick second and say hi.
98 Ledgelawn
Halloween afternoon and night.
Or, as we said on Facebook:
We decided to be extroverted and host a Halloween open house/get-together/party.
If you see this? You are invited. Come over. Stay for a hot second or for hours. It's all good.
So, come hang out! Trick or treat--or not. Make it your Ledgelawn base--or not. Come say hi--or not. Help us pass out candy and play scary tunes--or not. We are so chill. But we'd love to see you.
We'll have some food. Feel free to bring more. We'll have some liquid. Feel free to bring more. But no pressure! Just showing up is cool.
TRICK OR TREAT IN BAR HARBOR!
According to Bar Harbor Police Sgt. Soren Sundberg, “We will be closing down Ledgelawn on October 31 for Halloween. The event is from 4 pm to 8 pm. Road will be closed at 3:30 and planned to reopen around 8:30.”
Road closes to traffic: 3:30 p.m.
Road reopens: 8:30

Birch Bay Retirement Village and Mount Desert Island Hospital are hosting a Trail of Treats on Friday, October 27th from 4:30 – 6:00 pm, at Birch Bay Retirement Village’s Inn, 25 Village Inn Road, Hulls Cove. This is a spook-tacular location with amazing views of Frenchman’s Bay. Twenty tables offering pre-packaged treats will be situated outside, on a paved pathway around the Birch Bay Inn building. Trick-or-treaters will travel in one direction. Parking is available, though guests are encouraged to carpool whenever possible as this has been an incredibly popular event in years past and parking fills up quickly.

PUMPKIN CARVING AND FIRESIDE STORYTIME
ArtWaves MDI
www.artwavesmdi.org/event-5443917
Come carve jack o'lanterns and paint pumpkins to decorate your doorstep for Halloween! ArtWaves supplies the pumpkins. Cider and hot cocoa will be served as we light our jack'o' lanterns, and sit together by the fireside for poetry and storytime inspired by the shifting seasons! Sunday Oct 29-5-7
Storytime sneak peak! We will kick things off with "Song of the Witches" from Shakespeare's MacBeth (copies will be available so we can all read it together!):
"Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble!"
Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
$10 registration fee per person or $20 for families.
Costumes welcome!
