BAR HARBOR—The arrest of a local woman for alleged domestic violence assault and alleged domestic violence criminal threatening leads off our report of police incidents for last week.
Tuesday, February 7, 2023
Officers responded to a downtown residence in reference to a disturbance. After investigation by the officers, Holly Sprague-Hammond, 44, of Bar Harbor was arrested for alleged domestic violence assault and alleged domestic violence criminal threatening. After being arrested, Sprague-Hammond was transported to the Hancock County Jail.
Officer Amie Torrey received a referral for possession of child pornography from the Maine Computer Crimes Unit (MCCU).
Officer Judson Cake took a report of possible fraudulent activity.
Officer Judson Cake assisted Mount Desert Hospital with a patient.

Officer Kaleb Payson arrested Casey Harmon, 35, of Bar Harbor on an active arrest warrant. Harmon was transported to the Hancock County Jail.
Officer Caleb Mora located a vehicle that had gone off the roadway in Bar Harbor. The operator had apparently lost control due to the condition of the road. There was no damage to the vehicle, which was towed back onto the roadway.
Officer Kaleb Payson provided a ride for a local resident.
Officers responded to a burglary complaint at a Bar Harbor residence. The case is under investigation.
Officer Judson Cake assisted the Southwest Harbor Police Department.
Officer Jerrod Hardy responded to a complaint regarding the welfare of a child and found there to be no issues.
Officer Jerrod Hardy received a citizen complaint about a vehicle on the side of the road with its hazard flashers on. It turned out that the vehicle was broken down. It was towed.
An officer responded to a request to check on the welfare of a Bar Harbor resident. No further information was given so hopefully they were doing well.

Officer Troy Stanwood responded to a report of a dump truck moving very slowly on Rt. 3 but could not locate the dump truck upon arrival in the area.
Sgt. Leigh Guildford assisted a local business with having a vehicle moved from its lot.
Sgt. Leigh Guildford responded to a report of a loose dog in the area of 39 Birch Bay Drive but failed to locate the K-9 upon arrival.
Officer Jerrod Hardy assisted a subject whose property was being advertised as a rental scam on Craigslist. Officer Hardy had the post flagged and offered the homeowner other advice on handling the situation.
Sgt. Leigh Guildford attempted to conduct a wellbeing check on a subject in Bar Harbor but was unable to locate the subject.
Officer Elias Burne assisted a motorist.
Officer Jerrod Hardy gave someone a ride home from the hospital.
Another vehicle went off the roadway, and Officer Kaleb Payson responded. The vehicle was towed back onto the roadway and had no damage.

Sandra S. Henderson, 70, of Bar Harbor was parked on Cottage Street near the post office and while attempting to drive her 2017 Toyota 4Runner out of the parking space backed into the grill of the vehicle parked behind her. The parked vehicle was a 2013 Audi A4 last operated by Sarah M. McEachern, 50, of Bar Harbor. The vehicles suffered non-reportable damage and there were no injuries.
Officer Elias Burne received a report of an assault.
Officer Troy Stanwood assisted a motorist whose vehicle had broken down on Rt. 3. The vehicle was towed and Officer Stanwood gave the operator a ride into town.

Officers assisted a local resident with gaining entry into their locked home.
Officer Kaleb Payson assisted the Southwest Harbor Police Department with an individual that they had arrested and brought to the Bar Harbor Police Department.
