Bar Harbor Police Log: July 3
BAR HARBOR—Fireworks begin in Bar Harbor. On July 1, Officer Stanwood warned a group of people for trespassing and for discharging commercial fireworks. Other incidents this past week include accidents, alleged operating under the influence, and the apprehension of a man wanted out of New Hampshire.
The following incidents occurred in Bar Harbor last week according to the Bar Harbor police log, which is publicly released information.

Officer Jerrod Hardy responded to a medical call to assist Bar Harbor’s ambulance.
Officer Chris Dickens took a report of accidental damage to a garage door.
A found credit card was turned in to the police station.
Officer Kaleb Payson assisted the Bar Harbor ambulance on a medical call.
After conducting a motor vehicle stop, Officer Liam Harrington summonsed Mary M. Wark, 46, of Ellsworth, for alleged operating a motor vehicle after license suspension and alleged violation of conditions of release.

Officer Payson conducted a wellbeing check and found the person to be all set.
Officer Troy Stanwood gave someone a ride.
Officer Amie Torrey fingerprinted a man for a job application.
Officer Hardy fingerprinted someone in relation to a criminal summons.
Leshana Davy, 30, of Blue Hill, was driving a 2012 Infiniti FX3 and was backing out of a parking space at a Route 3 business and allegedly struck a 2018 GMC Sierra last operated by Leslie Brewer, 45, of Bar Harbor. There was no personal injury and both vehicles sustained minor damage.
Brittany Inman, 33, of Texas, was operating a 2007 Dodge pickup northbound on Eden Street when a deer entered the roadway from the left and was struck by the pickup. There was no personal injury and minor damage to the vehicle.
Someone reported losing their passport in the area of Cottage Street.
Officer Dickens took a report of some business staff members having been threatened over the phone.
Officer Harrington received some information regarding suspicious activity.
Officer Judson Cake handled a noise complaint which was deemed unsubstantiated after investigation.
Wednesday, June 28, 2023
Officer J. Cake responded to a 911 call which resulted in a male being warned for criminal trespass.
Officer J. Cake investigated a report of suspicious activity but found nothing suspicious.
After receiving a report of a truck off the road on Eagle Lake Road, Sgt. Leigh Guildford checked the area but could not locate a vehicle off the roadway.
A person reported losing some property to Officer Ted Cake.
Officer T. Cake assisted another agency.
The police department received an animal complaint.
Sgt. Soren Sundberg responded to a report of a child left unattended in a vehicle but discovered that the child was with family and was all set.
After receiving a complaint of illegally parked vehicles, Sgt. Sundberg issued them parking violation tickets.
A man reported having lost his prescription sunglasses sometime between June 21 and June 22.
Sgt. Sundberg assisted an individual who had a package dropped off at the wrong address in Bangor.
At the request of the Maine Warden Service, Sgt. Sundberg dispatched a deer.
Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Route 3. The issue was found to be verbal in nature and the parties were separated for the night.
After taking a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Norway Drive and Crooked Road, officers determined that the vehicle was broken down and a tow truck was contacted.
Officer J. Cake investigated a report of a dog bite.
Officer J. Cake went to a residence and closed the front door for the owners who had left town and mistakenly left the door open.

Officer J. Cake took a report of a gunshot and upon investigation determined that it was a vehicle backfiring.
Officer T. Cake responded to a complaint of dogs running loose but could not locate any loose dogs in the area.
As a result of a report of a suspicious activity, and with assistance from the Hancock County Sheriff's Department, as well as Acadia National Park Rangers, Jereme Gee, 40, of New Hampshire was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of New Hampshire. He was transported to the Bar Harbor Police Department and checked by medical personal before being transported to the Hancock County Jail.
Someone turned some found property in to the police station.
Someone reported having lost their credit card.

Officer Stanwood conducted a liquor license compliance check at the Cottage Street Pub and as a result, issued a State of Maine liquor license administrative violation to one of the servers and the business for allowing an employee to consume alcohol while on duty.
Officer Stanwood responded to a verbal altercation at a business and warned two people for disorderly conduct.
Makayla Gray, 23, of Bar Harbor, was driving a 2017 Dodge Durango southbound on Route 3 and was behind Maddrey Coover, 47, of Stueben, who was operating a 2013 Subaru Outback. A deer entered the roadway causing Coover to brake, allegedly hard. Gray allegedly ran into the rear of Coover’s vehicle. There was minor injuries to Gray and the vehicle’s airbags deployed. Gray’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Coover’s vehicle suffered reportable damage to the rear but was still drivable.
Destiny M. Guess-Machado, 19, of Bar Harbor, was driving a 2012 Chevy Malibu and was backing out of a motel parking lot when she allegedly struck a parked 2016 Honda CRV last operated by Edward Holsopple, 58, of New York. There was no personal injury and minor damage to both vehicles.
An officer assisted the Mount Desert Fire Department at a medical call.
A woman reported having lost her driver’s license.
Sgt. Guildford assisted two women by using the police department’s battery pack to jump the battery of their vehicle.
An officer responded to a Mount Desert Street business for the report of a parked vehicle that had been left running. The officer left a voicemail for the vehicle owner.
Somebody turned in a found item that they had located in the woods.
Sandra J. Jones, 72, of Gorham, Maine, was parking her 2016 GMC Sierra on Main Street when she allegedly struck a light pole. There was no personal injury and minor damage to the vehicle.
Amanda L. Kendall, 52, of Bar Harbor, was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Cottage Street and Eden Street, attempting to make a righthand turn onto Eden Street while operating a 2021 Toyota Rav4. A bicyclist was waiting on the northeast corner of the intersection waiting to cross Cottage Street at the crosswalk. As the bicyclist started to cross Cottage Street, Kendall started to turn right and allegedly struck the bicyclist. The bicyclist sustained minor injuries but refused transportation to the hospital.
Someone turned a found credit card in to the police station.
Officer Elias Burned investigated a reported theft.
Someone took a found watch to the police station and it was later recovered by its owner.
Sgt. Guildford checked on a dog that had been left in a vehicle on the Indian Point Road. The vehicle’s windows were down and the dog was not in distress.
Sgt. Guildford spoke with two individuals at the head of the island about being in the middle of the road.
Officer Stanwood assisted a motorist whose vehicle had broken down.
After conducting a motor vehicle stop, Officer Stanwood arrested James McConomy, 23, of Bar Harbor, for alleged operating under the influence. McConomy was transported to the Hancock County Jail.

Pursuant to a traffic stop, Nicholas Duley, 21, of Bar Harbor, was arrested by Officer J. Cake for alleged operating under the influence.
Officers responded to an unattended death of an elderly male.
Officer Torrey is investigating a report of a dog bite.
Officer Burne assisted someone.
Officer Hardy gave two people a ride to their hotel.
After taking a report that someone thought that they had clipped the mirror of another vehicle, Officer Hardy checked the area and found s piece of plastic in the roadway which clipped back onto the mirror that had been struck.
