Many apologies, on our last article, I managed to attribute it to me, Carrie, and not to Shaun Farrar.
I also somehow added an additional S to the word towns in the photos. Those errors have been fixed.
It does give me a moment to use this correction (and apology) to say that the NutMobile was in town yesterday and at one point parked at Albert Meadow.
And it also gives us a chance to share this note from School Superintendent Michael Zboray. It is captured in full below.
Dear MDIRSS Families -Â
We awake this morning with unfortunate and troubling news that has affected the communities of Lewiston/Auburn and the entire state of Maine. We have been known as a safe state and felt somewhat removed from the tragedies of mass shootings that have impacted the lives of our fellow citizens. I have been in contact with our local law enforcement partners, and they will have a greater presence around our schools today. I have shared resources with our teachers to help support our students and staff members.Â
During times like these it is imperative that we embrace the principles of kindness, compassion, love and acceptance in our own lives, count our blessings, and hold our young people even closer to our hearts. Please join me in expressing the sentiment that our collective thoughts and prayers go out to those in need, especially during this difficult course of events.
Here are some resources that I hope are useful to you as we navigate and try to make sense of these events.Â
