BAR HARBOR—On June 11 at approximately 10:32 p.m., a 2006 Mazda Tribute driven by Kristian Belada, 25, of Sarasota, Florida, was heading northbound on Route 3 when it left the roadway, entered a ditch, struck a utility pole, and came to rest on its roof. Belada and the passenger, Nelson Ramirez, 38, of Rustburg, Virginia, then got into an alleged physical altercation with Belada sustaining injuries from the altercation. Belada was charged with alleged driving to endanger and Ramirez was charged with alleged assault. The vehicle was totaled.
The following incidents occurred in Bar Harbor last week according to the Bar Harbor police log, which is publicly released information.

Following a motor vehicle stop, Officer Troy Stanwood arrested Johnathan Bayless, 26, of Jensen Beach, Florida, for alleged operating under the influence. Bayless was also summonsed for alleged refusing to stop for law enforcement. Bayless was transported to the Hancock County Jail.
The police department was notified of s traffic hazard and passed the information on to the appropriate agencies.
Hillard Walls, 85, of Bar Harbor, was driving a 2007 Jeep northbound on Route 3 when a deer entered the roadway in front of the vehicle. Walls was unable to stop in time and struck the deer. The Jeep sustained minor damage and no personal injury was reported.
Lt. Kevin Edgecomb responded to a complaint of people arguing inside of a vehicle that was being operated on the roadway near West Street. Lt. Edgecomb was unable to locate the vehicle.
A person went into the police department to report that they had struck the mirror of another vehicle. The reporting party said that they had already exchanged information with the driver of the other vehicle but wanted the incident on file.
Officer Jerrod Hardy assisted a family in dealing with a mental health issue one of the family members was having.
Officer Caleb Mora responded to a report of a domestic dispute and as a result of his investigation, arrested Carolyn Housman, 60, of Bar Harbor for alleged domestic violence assault. Housman was transported to the Hancock County Jail.

Officer Stanwood investigated a loud noise complaint and deemed the complaint to be unfounded.
Someone called the police department to report a possible scam. No money was lost or and none of their information was compromised, they just wanted to report it.
Officer Amie Torrey assisted the fire department in dealing with a female who had taken too much of her medication.
Officer Ted Cake spoke with a person who had questions about moving their tractor.
Officer T. Cake took a late report of a motor vehicle complaint.
The police department took a report of a tree across a roadway and referred it to the highway department, which cleared the road.
A person turned a car key in to the police department and the owner came to claim it later.
A person reported losing an item.
Officer Hardy helped a person who had lost their cellphone and thought it was in a specific area, but they could not locate it.

Assistant Harbormaster Chris Johansen warned somebody for taking shellfish from a closed area.
Someone called the police department to report information regarding a scam.
A man reported losing his wallet.
A pair of glasses was found and turned in to the police department.
Suzanne Madeira, 76, of Bernard, was driving a 2012 Toyota Prius westbound on Eagle Lake Road when a deer entered the roadway and was struck by the vehicle. There was no reported personal injury, but the vehicle suffered front end damage and a broken windshield.
The police department took a report of a town ordinance violation but no violation was observed.
Holly A. Wright, 34, of Mount Desert, was driving a 2017 Nissan Frontier westbound on Oak Hill Road when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and came to rest in the middle of the roadway. There was no reported personal injury, but the vehicle was deemed a total loss.

Someone reported a road rage incident to Officer J. Cake.
The police department received a report of people stranded on Bar Island due to the incoming tide. With the assistance of Acadia National Park rangers, a boat was launched and all party members were brough back to the mainland.

Officer Elias Burne responded to a motor vehicle complaint regarding a speeding vehicle that was making bad passes. After locating the suspect vehicle, Officer Burne escorted a female to the hospital.
Officer Tim Bland arrested Robert Smith, 37, of New Orleans, Louisiana, for being a fugitive from justice. Smith was transported to the Hancock County Jail.
Officer Burne is investigating a report of theft.
A person turned in a found cellphone.
Sgt. Leigh Guildford took a report of a dog in a vehicle on West Street. Sgt. Guildford located the vehicle with the dog in it. All of the vehicle’s windows were down and the outdoor temperature was 58 degrees. Sgt. Guildford deemed the dog not to be in distress and attempted to talk with the dog’s owner who did not want to speak with him.
Officer Burne responded to a motor vehicle complaint involving a school bus and a second vehicle. The complaint is under investigation.
Logan Blanchette, 18, of Bar Harbor, was driving a 2019 Audi sedan northbound on Route 102 when he allegedly moved out of his lane to the left striking two southbound vehicles. The first vehicle struck was a 2015 Toyota SUV driven by Elaine Chambers, 67, of Hampden, Maine. The second vehicle struck was a 2018 Chevrolet that was being operated by Jacqueline Stymiest, 32, of Bass Harbor. There were minor injuries reported, but all parties were cleared by medical personnel at the scene. All of the vehicles had to be towed from the scene due to disabling damage, with the Audi being considered totaled.
Officers responded to a medical call at a local establishment. The patient was revived and transported to the hospital. The incident is under investigation.
A found credit card was turned in to the police department.
The police department received a noise complaint that was unsubstantiated upon investigation.
Officer Kaleb Payson assisted the Southwest Harbor Police Department with an assault complaint.
Littering by the patrons of one business onto the property of another business was reported to the police department.

Olivia Homer, 27, of Voornees, New Jersey, had allegedly illegally parked a 2020 Subaru in a handicap parking space in front of the Criterion Theatre. Homer was attempting to assist a passenger in the backseat of the vehicle when she allegedly opened the rear door into the pathway of a 2008 Toyota driven by Barbara Tausch, 67, of Bar Harbor. Tausch’s vehicle struck the door. There were no reported injuries but there was damage to both vehicles.
Someone turned a found wallet in to the police department.
Officer Payson investigated multiple noise complaints in town, located the source of the noise, and advised the subjects to turn their music down.

Officer Payson responded to a complaint of a disorderly person. The person was a given no trespass warning and an order to cease harassment as a result.
Officer Mora took a vandalism of a motor vehicle complaint.
Norman Albee, no age given, of Otter Creek was operating a 2021 Mazda CX-5 on Main Street when the vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. The vehicle sustained damage but was still drivable and no injuries were reported.
An empty purse was turned in to the police department.
Officer Mora checked on a vehicle with panting dogs inside and determined that the dogs were doing fine.
The police department received a motor vehicle complaint but the vehicle was off the island before officers could get to it. The compliant was referred to the Maine State Police.
Officer Hardy responded to a compliant of a vehicle parked in the road near an Acadia National Park entrance but the vehicle was gone upon his arrival.
Officers Liam Harrington and Elias Burne assisted a local farm with corralling an escaped pig.
The police department received a complaint of bottles being thrown out the window of a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officers found broken glass in the roadway but could not determine who was involved. The glass was removed from the roadway.

Everal Eaton, 30, of Bar Harbor, was arrested for alleged operating under the influence following a traffic stop conducted by Officer Hardy.
Palak Taneja, 32, of Bar Harbor, was arrested for alleged operating under the influence following a traffic stop by Officer Harrington.
Following a disorderly person complaint at a local business, Shane A. Allen, 30, a transient, was arrested for alleged disorderly conduct and summonsed for alleged criminal trespass and alleged criminal mischief. Allen was transported to the Washington County Jail.
After conducting a well-being check, Jessica McElvogue, 39, of Bar Harbor, was arrested for alleged possession of schedule drugs and summonsed for alleged possession of heroin by Officer Mora.
Lt. Edgecomb assisted the fire department with a medical call.
A person reported the theft of tools and accessories to the police department.
The police department received a report of a dog in a car but could not locate any vehicles with dogs in them in the area of the complaint.
Assistant Harbormaster Johansen issued a warning to someone for clamming without a license.
After responding to a report of a hit and run, Officer Burne arrested Michael Gradus, 57, of Maryland, for alleged operating under the influence.
Officer Hardy checked on a report of people standing around a vehicle parked in a no parking zone but could not locate a vehicle in the area that was in violation of a no parking zone.
Someone turned in a piece of found property which was later collected by the owner.
Officer Harrington responded to a report of an open vehicle trunk.
