AT WHAT COST?
When the Trump Administration hiring freeze was set to exacerbate staffing shortages at national parks, senators Patty Murray (D-WA), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Martin Heinrich (D-NM), and our own Angus King (I-ME) wrote to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to immediately take action. Which he did, exempting NPS seasonal employees from the freeze. Missing in action—Appropriations Committee Chair Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME). Mainers across the political spectrum often cite Collins' seniority as a reason to vote for her. Collins’ habit of 'expressing concern' most often stops short of taking action to prevent harm. Collins' support for Pres. Trump and his Project 2025 agenda may roll federal pork barrels into Maine, but at what cost?

I am SO tired of Collins. Her "concern" is so transparently performative as are her protest votes when she knows her vote will make no difference. I mean, this is the woman who voted to confirm rfk jr. Her "concern" is to make sure to do the bidding of her fearless leader. I will not type that disgusting person's name.
Susan Collin has all the behaviors, now clearly demonstrated by her votes and her disregard for Acadia National Park and all our national parks as well as what was once our great American democracy and decency, of a cowardly collaborator.
