MDI REGION—If you have ever wanted to serve your community in an elected capacity now is the time to get your name on the ballot for upcoming elections. Beginning Monday, March 3, all MDI towns and Trenton will have nomination papers available.
All of the towns listed below with the exception of Bar Harbor have had nomination papers available for some time and two of the towns, Mount Desert and Southwest Harbor, actually have nomination paper turn in deadlines of next week.
So, take your papers out, get those signatures, and turn your papers in, and maybe you can help determine the future of your town and the region as a whole.
Listed below, by town, are the elected seats open, who currently occupies the seat, seat terms, and some general nomination/election information.
Bar Harbor

Deadline for filing nomination papers is Friday, April 11, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
The residents of Bar Harbor will vote for these elected officials at their annual municipal election on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the town office, 93 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor.

As the papers are turned in, we hope to have more information on events. We’ll always include those in our weekly ON THE AGENDA and in BRIEFS.

There is a meet and greet/campaign kickoff for Natasha “Tasha” Johnson and James “Jim” Vallette tomorrow, March 2 at the Clark Point Cafe in Southwest Harbor at 2 p.m.
