Thank you for continuing your good work, part of what builds the capacity of our community to understand what is going on and follow through with our responsibilities as citizens. As for the nay-sayers: do your best to ignore their unkindness. There is really no excuse for it.

Thank you for your kind words, Ron. The negativity was just coming so fast and furious into my inbox yesterday. And I was definitely not at my best!

Additional information: 2 of the 8 employees remain on indefinite administrative leave which goes against the judges order. We will continue to fight for our rangers and public lands!!

Made me laugh out loud . Prohibitionary sounds like they were landing Canadian whiskey at Sand Beach. Come to think of it . . .

Peter, you are so kind. Thank you. I know it does, but I hate it when it happens to me, but I hate it even more when people use it as a reason to be really nasty. Thanks for sticking with it for 44 years and for sticking with us!

Just catching up on my emails from the week. Thanks for the content and information you provide. Be happy that your full life isn't focused on being right vs. being real.

Cheers for Judge Alsup!! This is good news!! Thank you very much for the Bar Harbor Story, and may you feel better real soon.

On a related note to your report, one other unfortunate victim of our current federal administration is the cancelling of the Acadia Youth Conservation Corps. This exemplary program provides young men and women with the opportunity to learn basics of ranger work as well as providing needed trail maintenance throughout the park. A family member who applied and was hopefully awaiting a reply from his application, received this disappointing message today.

Dear YCC Applicant,

The Acadia Youth Conservation Corps

Program has been cancelled for the 2025 season. Thank you for your interest. We encourage you to reapply next year.

Oh! Thank you so much for the well wishes and for the information about the Acadia Youth Conservation Corps. I'm so sorry that your family member won't get to do that this summer.

Oh my goodness. What a world when people feel entitled to be mean when they are hiding behind a screen. Your and Shaun’s work is very, very much admired, appreciated, and always articulate. The joys of spell check. I once sent my brother-in-law a note where I said “I really like penuche fudge”…well, spellcheck changed it to “I really like penis fudge…” and i didn’t catch it. He graciously wrote back “well, good for you!” Hope this little anecdote gave you a smile and you feel better soon.
