I am not a big fan of dog parks, however, a dog park needs to have separate areas for small dogs and big dogs. It also needs an area where an owner can let their dog off leash alone with their dog/dogs. We have one here in Bangor where you can take just your dog/dogs to run free in a secure area.
My sister in law lives in the Colorado Rockies in Evergreen. They had an excellent dog park just outside of the town but they had to close it because it contaminated the area water shed. This should be considered where ever a dog park is created.
