I find it very disturbing that neighbors would actually refer to business people in their small close-knit community as "Ignorant". I do not care what the feelings are but I believe that the business people (not just businessmen!) are very concerned about their livelihoods as they have I am sure invested a great deal of money, perhaps in the millions, to create a business that all residents as well as visitors can enjoy.--not to mention the tax benefits to all Bar Harbor residents and our great State of Maine. Having been a parent and high school teacher, I always gave them this advice: Using harsh language, name calling and mud-slinging to me best describes the person using it. And today, I believe Jim is proving my point.
Breathing the quantities of SO2 that cruise ships emit over the summer is deadly to everyone on this island and beyond. NIH and WHO and all of science knows sulfur dioxide plus the water on your airways turns into sulfuric acid. The exact same chemical that is in a car battery. Stay out of the downtown area to be safe. Of note this group of ignorant businessmen that call themselves APPLL are all situated right within a stones throw of the ramp. They are a very small group of businessmen that have no right to demand we eat their POISONOUS APPLE.
