MDI HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTS CHICAGO
The MDI High School Drama department presents CHICAGO!
For just two weekends, MDI High School Drama presents CHICAGO at the Higgins-Demas Theater at the high school. If you’re looking for some live performance fix and great talent, head on over and then check out A.C.T. next month.
Performances are at:
Friday and Saturday, November 22-23, 7 p.m.
Saturday, November 23, 2 p.m.
Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for students and seniors.
Tickets are available at the high school one hour prior to the show’s start.
You can purchase your tickets in advance on:

DANCING AT ARTWAVES
LINE DANCING AT ART WAVES
No partner? No problem!
Learn new dance steps while having fun in a group setting. This class is appropriate for all levels. Please carry in a dedicated pair of dance shoes (clean, non-marking soles); no outdoor shoes are allowed into the studio. Your instructor: David Lamon is an experienced teacher and choreographer who has studied and taught a wide variety of dance forms and movement techniques. Whether he is teaching jazz, modern, improv, or ballroom, David’s classes are fun, engaging, and demonstrate a thoughtful attention to the foundations of each dance. Whatever the form, David believes that dance is a doorway to the synchronistic creativity of being in the moment.

BALL DANCING AT ART WAVES
This class will focus primarily on Rhumba and Salsa patterns for social dance settings at the beginner/intermediate levels.
We’ll cover basics and more complex dance patterns and partnering skills. Focus is on having fun and feeling more confident on the dance floor. Must register with a partner. Please carry in a dedicated pair of dance shoes (clean, non-marking soles); no outdoor shoes are allowed into the studio to protect the floor. PRAYER SHAWL MISSION GROUP
Welcoming all knitters and would be knitters…and crocheters! The Welcome and Care Team at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church UCC is hosting a weekly Prayer Shawl Mission Group every Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church UCC. The intention of the group is to create a sense of community and a flow of Prayer Shawls for distribution to those in need of comfort due to illness, loneliness, or loss. Supplies and instruction will be provided to those with skills for knitting and/or crocheting and for those with a desire to learn.
There are no costs to the participants.

MDI HIGH SCHOOL FAIR!
The MDIHS Annual Holiday Craft Fair is right around the corner! At the seventh annual fair, there will be a wide array of crafts and good food. Lunch is by West Eden Pizza. Pies, holiday greens, Blue Barrens Blueberries, ECO Team Pop-up Thrift Shop, Children's Craft run by National Arts Honor Society and so much more.
The event with more than 40 vendors supports the upcoming Italy trip for approximately 50 students and staff.

MOUNT DESERT — College of the Atlantic Beech Hill Farm hosts an end-of-season sale at their farmstand on Tuesday, November 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most merchandise is marked down 40%, excluding vegetables, beer and wine, and certain preserves. HARVEST FESTIVAL AT THE COMMUNITY SCHOOL!NORTHEAST HARBOR CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL
HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR
Support local artists this holiday season! Join us for our annual Holiday Craft fair at the Atlantic Oceanside in Bar Harbor. In addition to artists selling their creations, there will also be raffles items, and refreshments available to purchase. Proceeds from the raffles and refreshments benefit the MDI YWCA.
The fair will take place on Friday, December 6 from 10:00-6:00, and Saturday, December 7 from 9:00-4:00.
Please note that the application period for artists has closed, and this fair is full. Do not fall for scammers claiming to be related to our organization. Never send money via Venmo or Paypal to people that you do not know.

Inc who distributes warm clothing to folks in need in Hancock County (mens, womens, and childrens).

ASC Racial Justice Book Group
Are you interested in joining us? We are open to new members who want to share in the reading and the hard work that ensues as we examine the underpinnings of systemic racism and its effects on society and on each of us individually, in the ultimate hope that our studies can work toward change.
We have been meeting once a month on the second Tuesday of the month from 10:30- 12:15.
We started with the basic readings of How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi and The Sum of Us by Heather McGhee. We then spent many months delving deeply into The 1619 Project edited by Nikole Hannah-Jones.
Since then, we’ve read some James Baldwin, Colon Whitehead, Zora Neale Hurston, Eddie S. Glaude, Jr., Clint Smith and many others. We look forward in the next few months to reading some James McBride and Bryan Stevenson. We also share articles of interest that deal with the issues we’re facing.

HAVANA
Every Saturday night it’s open, at 6:30 p.m, you can come hear the maestro Bob Lombardi. Maestro isn’t something we put out there for everyone. Havana is on lower Main Street.
“Things To Do” is mostly curated by me looking for things happening in the upcoming week, which takes a lot of time and I truly do not know all that is going on.
