Tremont Annual Town Meeting Begins Monday, May 12
TREMONT—Tremont’s Annual Town Meeting begins Monday, May 12, at 8 a.m., with the secret ballot voting at the town office. The ballot is short with three people running for three seats, all unopposed.
James “Jamie” Thurlow - Select board seat with a three-year term. Thurlow is currently the chair of the select board.
Jessica Bass - School committee seat with a three-year term. Bass is currently the vice chair of the Tremont School Committee.
Lawrence W. Albee - MDI High School Board of Trustees with a three-year term.
The town meeting continues on Tuesday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m., in the Harvey Kelley Meeting Room, where voters will vote on the town’s warrant which includes the school budget, the municipal budget, and both regular ordinance and land use ordinance changes.

SCHOOL BUDGET
The total Tremont Consolidated School budget as shown on the annual meeting warrant is $5,359,808 which is up from the current year’s budget amount of $4,804,301.
Of that $5,359,808 total, the town’s appropriation is proposed at $4,587,820 which is up from the current year’s amount of $4,166,727.
ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS
There will be votes on amendments to the town’s Harbor Management Ordinance and its Wharf and Facilities Ordinance.
There will also be votes on six land use ordinance amendments. Those amendments are explained by the town here.
